Lab Testing

We utilize the most accurate and comprehensive testing methods and diagnostics available to determine the source of your imbalance.  Below are some of the most frequently used tests and diagnostics.

Intracellular Vitamin and Mineral Deficiency Test

Stop guessing at what nutrients you need and find out by doing a Spectracell Micronutrient Deficiency Test. This specialized blood test identifies your primary vitamin, mineral and antioxidant deficiencies by assessing the nutrient status in your white blood cells or lymphocytes.

The value in assessing nutrient status in your white blood cells, is that these cells live in our bodies for 6 months to a year, versus red blood cells, which only provide us information surrounding the 72 hours within a blood draw. Therefore, the test results identify what nutrients you are low or deficient in for the past 6 months up to 1 year prior. If you are tired of wondering what you actually need to supplement and want to get to the bottom of your unwanted symptoms and health problems, this is the test for you.

Included in this test package is a 60-minute Results Review and Consultation with Heather Fitzgerald R.D., via phone or video call, to provide you the proper recommendations and supplements to replenish your deficiencies.

This test requires no fasting or special preparation prior to the blood draw. This blood test will be drawn by a local laboratory affiliated with Spectracell. Your test kit will be shipped directly to you and once your blood has been drawn, the results take about 3 weeks to come back.

Genetic Mutation Testing

Using the most advanced testing methods, we now have the ability to evaluate genetic variations, called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP’s), in genes that modulate specific systems and conditions, including SNP’s for cardiovascular disease, nutrient metabolism, inflammation, oxidative stress, detoxification capacity, estrogen metabolism, Coagulation, osteoporosis, and potential defects in immune system defenses.  Because these are genetic mutations tests, you only have to do these tests once in your lifetime.

Urine Toxic Element Profile

This test measures urinary excretion of nutrients and toxic metals, including toxic elements such as mercury, lead, and arsenic. This is an ideal test for patients suspected of toxic element exposure as well as potential nutrient and mineral wasting.
